Dear Aunt Lute Community,
As 2021 comes to a close, we are reaching out to you with an urgent request. Will you support Aunt Lute’s programming and publications for the new year by making a tax-deductible donation today? Our work to support and publish traditionally underrepresented communities is far from over, which is why your donations are crucial.
Your generosity has helped fund the programs and works we produce. Take a look at what your donations helped fund in 2021:
We published the critical edition of Gloria Anzaldúa’s Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza, the iconic text that changed the course of Chicanx, queer, and feminist theory.
We executed the first event in our Home in the Bay project, a California-based reading series centering the voices of those impacted by houselessness, gentrification, migration, and colonization. Done in partnership with Sogorea Te' Land Trust, POOR Magazine, Poets Reading the News, and the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project.
Working with POC United, we held Building A POC Literary Community, a three-part event series to build a POC literary community independent from the disproportionately white publishing industry.
This work would not be possible without your support, and we hope to continue to support and promote diverse voices doing radical work in literature. As we prepare for the coming year, we ask that you consider making a donation to Aunt Lute. Your gift is an investment in a future with more diverse voices in the canon.
Thank you for your support,
Joan Pinkvoss Director of Aunt Lute Books
