Aunt Lute is thrilled to be a part of this year’s National Women’s Studies Association Conference. Celebrating its 34th anniversary, the conference’s theme is Negotiating Points of Encounter. Some highlights from this spectacular four-day event include a keynote address from the notable poet/author/playwright/teacher Elizabeth Alexander; a plenary session on gender, resistance, and movements; an open mic night sponsored by the Women of Color, South Asian Women’s and Lesbian Caucuses; an NWSA Authors Networking Reception; and an Ageing and Ageism Caucus Event.

The 34th NWSA Conference is taking place at the Cincinnati Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, Ohio from November 7-10, 2013. NWSA’s annual conference consistently attracts over 1,500 attendees and is the only annual meeting in the U.S. solely dedicated to showcasing the latest feminist scholarship. If you are in the area, it’s not too late to register on-site and be a part of this revolutionary feminist praxis. If the opportunity to interact with fellow intellectuals isn’t enough to reel you in, Aunt Lute will be selling many of its beloved titles from over the years, including Audre Lorde’s Cancer Journals and Gloria Anzaldúa’s Borderlands/La Frontera, for the jaw-droppingly low price of $5. Please be sure to stop by our booth for a chat and to pick up a copy of your favorite Aunt Lute book!
