Joy Harjo and Dean Rader to read at Litquake

LitQuake, San Francisco’s annual literary festival, is in full swing!

Joy Harjo, whose writing is featured in The Aunt Lute Anthology of U.S. Women Writers, Volume Two and Through the Eye of the Deer: An Anthology of Native American Women Writers, will read October 17 at Using Words as Arrows: Contemporary Native American Writers. Harjo will be joined by four other authors to “showcase the diversity of current Indian literature, from reservation humor to unforgettable family history, in poetry, prose, and reportage.”

Dean Rader, who wrote the foreword to LeAnne Howe’s latest book, Choctalking on Other Realities, will read at Words on the Waves, an “exhibit of Northbay writers aboard Sausalito boats” on October 19.
