Aunt Lute is thrilled to announce the launch of A Simple Revolution: Community Dialogue with Judy Grahn! The project is inspired by internationally recognized poet, writer, and social theorist Judy Grahn, who is currently working on a memoir about the Bay Area lesbian movement of the turbulent ’60s and ’70s. The memoir weaves together Judy’s stories with those of other feminist lesbian activists and comrades such as Pat Parker and Audre Lorde.
A Simple Revolution hopes to build community and foster intergenerational dialogue around the history and legacy of the Bay Area lesbian movement. The project features a community forum (blog) component and a call for submissions, both of which are open to anyone who is interested in contributing to their voice. We invite you to visit the website to learn more about how you can participate, whether you’d like to respond to posts by Judy and other community members, send in a submission for the chance to read onstage with Judy at one of two community events, connect with others on A Simple Revolution’s facebook page, or all of the above!
Please call or email us with any comments and feedback for improving the site! We hope you’ll help us spread the word to build a vibrant community around this important project.
