May 30, 2014 • On May 15th, Aunt Lute Books participated in the second annual Give OUT Day, an event engaging LGBTQ folks and their allies to raise funds for LGBTQ organizations. We are proud to announce that, due to your efforts, we raised a total of $1,828! Thank you for supporting our mission.

flesh to bone wins Premio Aztlán award

May 23, 2014 • The National Hispanic Cultural Center has chosen ire’ne lara silva’s flesh to bone as the winner of the 2013 Premio Aztlán award! silva will be presented the award at the “Poet’s Conclave: José Montoya Celebration” on May 31st. Prior to the evening award ceremony, silva will read an excerpt of flesh to bone at Bookworks Bookstore. Authors Tim Z. Hernandez and Laurie Ann Guerrero will join silva at Bookworks to read portions of their most recent works.

Both events are free, open to the public, and are not to be missed. Congratulations on a wonderful year, ire’ne!

May 9, 2014 • Nancy Agabian, author of Me as Her Again: True Stories of an Armenian Daughter, will host “Gartal: The Part of You that is Me” at the Bowey Poetry Center Sunday May 11th in New York City. This is an event you won’t want to miss!
