Fall writing workshops with Nancy Agabian

Throughout September, Nancy Agabian, author of Me as Her Again, will host a series of writing workshops titled “Heightening Stories” at her studio in New York. “Heightening Stories” includes the following workshops:

Jumpstart Your Writing
“An online workshop to re-invigorate your creative process”

Community Writing Exercise Studio
“The Community Writing Exercise Studio is geared for all writers, from beginning to advanced, to flex their creativity and to explore issues of place, community and identity…”
When: September 9 – December 9, 12 Tuesday nights, 6:00 – 7:15 pm
Where: Jackson Heights, Queens

Book Writers’ Group
“For writers working on long-term or book length projects, this workshop will focus on craft issues of structure, plot, voice, character development and other elements that sustain a reader’s interest for a few hundred pages.”
When: September 9 – December 9, 12 Tuesday nights, 7:30 – 9:30 pm
Where: Jackson Heights, Queens

Creative Nonfiction/Autobiographical Fiction,
“This ongoing community-oriented group encourages members to write stories that are both bravely personal and socially conscious.”

Last month, Agabian read from her memoir Me as Her Again at the Queens Pride House Book Fest 2014 on August 5th in Jackson Heights, NY. This is the first year of the Queens Pride House Book Fest, whose lineup highlighted authors addressing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues. The inaugural lineup featured Nancy Agabian, Leslie L. Smith, Mariette Pathy Allen, Amanda Rosenblum, Lance Ringel, as well as contributors and editors of “Trans Bodies, Trans Selves: A Resource for the Transgender Community.”   Click here for more info on the Queens Pride House.
