New Call for Submisions for A Simple Revolution Intergenerational Event at La Peña
December 13th, 2011
New details on our call for submissions for Aunt Lute’s April 26th event at La Peña Cultural Center, “Struggle Then and Now: Intergenerational Voices on the Bay Area Lesbian Movement,” are now up on A Simple Revolution’s page. We’re looking for prose submissions of up to 1200 words that contextualize the writer’s lived experience within the broader sociopolitical history of the Bay Area lesbian movement. Submissions may treat any aspect of lesbian life in the Bay Area, as long as they address the relationship between activism now and then.
As always, Aunt Lute is especially interested in underrepresented voices, and welcomes pieces focusing on multicultural and/or working class perspectives.
From the submissions, four to six writers will be selected to read their work and participate in a roundtable with Judy Grahn at the event. Since we are interested in creating a dialogue between activists of many different ages and experiences, we will reserve openings for and award bonus gifts to writers under 30. Please read the full details and consider submitting to what promises to be another lively, thoughtful Aunt Lute Event!
